Awards & Accomplishments



Professor Mark Snyder served as organizer and convener of the conference on “Ethical Choosers” (a multi-disciplinary workshop on ethical choice, decision making, and action by individuals, groups, and organizations), held January 22-23 2016 at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University.

Professor Traci Mann's book, “Secrets from the Eating Lab”, has been named one of four finalists for the Minnesota Book Award in the General Non-Fiction category. Winners will be announced April 16. Congratulations Traci!

Assistant Professor Moin Syed is featured on the Campus Climate Website for his interview titled “Living Our Own Story: An Interview with Moin Syed”. The interview can be found here.

Awards & Accomplishments



Professor Bob Kruger, and his co-authors (Craig Rodgiruez-Sejas and Nicholas Eaton), had their paper, "How Transdiagnostic Factors of Personality and Psychopathology can inform Clinical Assessment and Intervention," selected as the winner of the 2015 Martin Mayman Award, which is awarded by the Society for Personality Assessment annually for the best theoretical paper published in the journal during the 2015 calendar year.  Congratulations!

Social area Graduate Student, Keven Joyal-Desmarais, was awarded a 4-year doctoral scholarship starting last fall. The award was from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) of Canada. The SSHRC announcement can be found here.

Dr. Zhicheng Lin has been named an APS Rising Star. Zhicheng obtained his Ph. D from our CAB program, mentored by Professors Sheng He and Dan Kersten. He is currently a post-doctoral fellow at the Ohio State University.

Professor Jeff Simpson and his colleagues received a grant from the Australian Research Council titled "Caring for older parents: Determining the role of attachment security." The $427,000 grant will run through 2019.
