Administrative Updates & Announcements



We regret to announce that Associate Director of Undergraduate Studies, Holly Hatch-Surisook, will be leaving the Department of Psychology. After 18 years of service, and helping thousands of Psychology undergrads, Holly is leaving to dedicate more of her time to the growing success of her restaurant. Holly's last day was Friday, July 31st, 2015. Congratulations Holly! You will be missed!

We are happy to announce that we have hired Yvette Massey, Executive Assistant to the Chair.

Yvette started in the department on July 8th, 2015. Yvette is a former university employee, who worked as an Office Manager in the office of the Dean at the Carlson School of Management and as an Executive Assistant to the Chair of Medicine. More recently, Yvette worked as a contractor at different organizations such as Det-Tronics, The Minneapolis Foundation, and the Valspar Corporation among others. Yvette has BA in Communication Studies, College of Liberal Arts, University of Minnesota.

Yvette's location will be in the Chair's suite, room N210, please stop by and introduce yourself when you have a chance.

Awards & Accomplishments


Professor Andrew J. Oxenham has been elected a Member of the Executive Council for the Acoustical Society of America (ASA). The ASA is the premier international scientific society in acoustics devoted to the science and technology of sound. Congratulations Professor Oxenham!


Allison (Ally) Farrell, a graduate student in our Social Psychology area has won a 2015 Heritage Dissertation Award from The Foundation for Personality and Social Psychology. Ally was one of three award winners who were selected to receive a $1000 research grant. Congratulations to Ally and to her adviser, Jeff Simpson!
